This file contains 8 pages. Each page a space to write the electron configuration of all the elements in a group and a space to draw the general dot structure for each main group.
Students are assigned to groups. Each group of students is then assigned one group from the periodic table and must write the electron configuration of each element in the group and establish a pattern for that group. When all the student groups are complete, they share their results with each other and this information is recorded in the "summary" section.
This activity is a good way of "proving" each group has a general dot structure.
